"Sharing Knowledge and Experience through Conference Presentations"

2023 National Nurse Educator Summit in San Antonio, TX!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be presenting my work as a poster presenter. My project focuses on reframing the medical-surgical classroom by integrating real-world issues and health equity concepts.

As a nurse educator, I am committed to preparing my students to become effective healthcare providers and advocates for health equity. In my poster presentation, I will share my experiences and strategies for incorporating health equity into the curriculum and addressing real-world issues faced by diverse patient populations.

I look forward to sharing my work with you all and learning from other healthcare professionals at the conference. See you there!

Check out PSAs created by nursing students!

Nursing students are already doing great things for their communities. They are creating public service announcements (PSAs) to share their knowledge and raise awareness about important health issues. It's inspiring to see how nursing students are making a positive impact and a difference in people's lives.  See examples of their projects below (for a med-surg 1 course assignment).

Websites created by nursing students...

Another way to spread awareness on health equity topics are through the creation of websites.

End-of-Pain Management

Healthcare providers often fail to provide effective pain management and holistic care.

Nursing
Burnout

There has been a 62% increase of nurses reporting symptoms of burnout in the last 3 years.

Effects of Night Shifts on Nurses

Working at night runs counter to our bodies' natural circadian rhythm, resulting in negative emotional and physiological effects.

Infographics by nursing students

Nursing students' infographics can raise public awareness about health equity issues, like bias against disabled and incarcerated patients. Infographics present complex information in an accessible format, promoting understanding and action towards positive change in healthcare.
